Has Twitter made me too lazy to blog?

I’ve come to realise that the more I’m on Twitter the less I blog. You can tell from the timestamps that it’s been more than a month since I last blogged here. Blogging is a time consuming exercise and I’m getting lazy. Probably because I’m getting used to 140 character public communications as opposed to [...]

JamiQ gets press again

We’re in TODAY! Also in the story are my friends over at buUuk. Here’s also a shoutout to Hedirman who wrote a this fantastic page on Singapore startups.

JamiQ’s first media mention

I’m so proud. This is the first media coverage of JamiQ and we haven’t even put out a press release. I’m glad Irene decided to focus on sentiment analysis because that’s what we’re all about and that’s what’s really exciting. To have computers come in and do the “intelligent” things that humans are required for [...]

Reality check

Love this video. Although Louis C.K. is a comedian, his observations are so true and I don’t know if I should be laughing or nodding. We do take technology for granted don’t we?

Crossing over to entrepreneurship

OK, I admit. To be able to introduce myself as a Consultant gave me quite a thrill, and a social media consultant was a recognistion many people coveted. But as of last Thursday, 21 August 2007, I exchanged my Consultant at Hill & Knowlton status for an unpaid entrepreneurship with our new startup, JamiQ (say [...]

Why I want to meet Meng

Meet who? Tan Chade-Meng, apparently he’s the first of my countrymen to be hired by Google. I’m not the kind to go meet a successful Singaporean for nationalistic pride, and normally I’ll look at a person’s credentials and expertise before signing up for an event. But this time round, of all the fantastic things I’ve [...]

Goodbye Friend: Eddie Toh 1967 – 2008

Eddie was a good man. I didn’t get a much opportunity to work with him, but the interaction we had at work was enough to tell me he was a man with a good heart. Just last month Eddie took me out for lunch at a nice Japanese restaurant with Jolene simply because I bought [...]

Happiness is leaving the office before sunset

Lying on grass

Yesterday I lay on the grass looking up at the war memorial in the middle of the city. Lovely weather, I lay in the shade on my laptop bag.

Today I turn 27

My lovely colleagues gave me a cupcake, a card, and a present. So nice of them. The technology team bought me lunch too. I don’t understand why people like to take birthdays off, there’s so much fun in the office!
